We are hiring

Join the crew behind the region’s biggest conferences.

After nineteen years of delivering corporate events and conferences through Waridi Events, we are bringing our technical services together under one dedicated arm — The PCO Collective.

We deliver the technical infrastructure behind conferences and events across East Africa: registration, audio, visual production, videography, photography, event internet, interpretation, live streaming and technical direction.

We are now building the team that will deliver it.

Stage Designer

Production · Consultant, engaged per project · Reports to the Technical Lead and Project Manager

The role

You design how the event looks. The client's brand and programme come to you as a brief; what leaves is a stage the fabricators can build and the technical crews can light, rig and shoot.

What you own on every project

Client Brief & Brand
Stage Concept
CAD Drawings
Renders & Visuals
Agency Liaison
Technical Sign-off
On-site Supervision

What the role covers

  • Take the client's brand and programme and turn them into a design
  • Develop the stage concept with the branding agency
  • Produce CAD drawings the fabricators can build from
  • Render the design so the client can see it before it is built
  • Check the design against sightlines, rigging, power and access
  • Work with AV and lighting so screens and fixtures land correctly
  • Design the physical graphics: banners, panels, signage, set dressing
  • Supervise the build on site and sign off the finished stage

What you must bring

  • 6+ years designing stages, sets or exhibition environments
  • CAD: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vectorworks or similar
  • You render well enough to sell a concept to a client
  • You understand structure, load, sightlines and rigging
  • You have worked alongside fabricators and know what builds
  • You take a brand guideline and design inside it
  • You can defend a design decision to a client without losing them

Education & certification

A degree or diploma in architecture, interior design, industrial design, set or production design, or fine art. Candidates who came up through fabrication or exhibition build are equally welcome if the portfolio is there. Working knowledge of safety in temporary structures is valued.

Motion Designer

Production · Crew, engaged per project · Reports to the Technical Lead and Project Manager

The role

You design everything that appears on screen: lower thirds, name banners, transitions, walk-in loops and session graphics, built to match the stage and the client's brand.

What the role covers

  • Work to the exact screen sizes, ratios and resolutions on the job
  • Prepare and label the files the video technician will play out
  • Update name graphics when the speaker list changes late
  • Check everything on the actual screens during rehearsal
  • Hand over a clean, organised show file after the event

What you must bring

  • 4+ years in motion design for live events or broadcast
  • After Effects, Premiere and the wider Adobe suite
  • You design inside a brand guideline, not around it
  • You know screen formats, ratios and how LED actually renders
  • You work fast and are adaptable to late night changes
  • You name and organise files so someone else can play them
  • You have been on site during a live show, not only in the studio
  • Stage or graphic design as well is an advantage
